STEP 2: HELP FRIENDS & FAMILY

As you’ve discovered in this series, panic attacks (and what's typically labeled as ‘panic disorder’) are very common.

Unfortunately, good help for panic is very hard to find.

Since I can't reach everyone on my own, and since we both share the same belief that we don’t want anyone to suffer in silence… if you benefit from what I’m doing here in this series, please tell others about it.

Thank you so much for helping me make a difference!

STEP 3: REINFORCE YOUR INSIGHTS

If you met someone else who experienced panic attacks and you only had 30 seconds to share ONE ESSENTIAL insight from this episode with them... what would you tell them?

Share your answer below to reinforce your long-term memory for this key insight AND to share your perspective with others (who will also share their perspectives with you).

Also, if you have any other comments for me, I'd love to hear them too.

Love,

Michael

P.S. Your email address will NOT be visible to others when you share your insight in the comments section below. Also, if you're more comfortable using just your first name, that's totally fine as well.

  1. Thanks so much! Couldn’t agree more about the ineffectiveness of Deep breathing exercises, they make me hyperventilate! So great to get clear on so many issues surrounding this bizarre affliction.

  2. THANK YOU, I am going to listen a few more time to this episode. It is so important that I could believe in all you are saying. I was talking to my daughter, who also had panic attacks, about your videos. We are going to discuss them.

  3. I find it hard to believe that by watching Episodes 1 & 2 of your videos that I would feel better but that is exactly what has happened! Thank you so much! I am so looking forward to Episode 3.

  4. Hi Michael,
Thank you so much for this series! It’s amazing and so are you!
My comment might be a bit controversial and perhaps a bit out of this scope… and I know not everyone can understand this, but I would like to share it anyway.

I’ve experienced a (family) abandonment trauma in my teens and have been having some panic/anxiety (whichever one it is, I’d say probably anxiety since specific) attacks here and now for a few decades. Usually when I’m under extreme stress and fatigued and get overwhelmed or hopeless, or when I suddenly reminisce of past painful events (disputes, a fight with someone I love) or when I am deeply hurt by someone. It comes with the overbreathing that you explain and the sobbing and crying and such.
Because of my past experience with abandonment and my fear of it, when it comes to establishing new close relationships (especially romantic ones), I find myself having more panic/anxiety attacks, going into a negative loop thinking the person is going to leave me, that they don’t truly care. Of course I don’t enjoy the “attacks”, they aren’t pleasant but here’s the weird part: I think part of me makes those happen as a test to see if that person actually truly cares and is there for me at my “worst”. On one side, bonding with them on a deeper level brings out my biggest fears (of abandonment) and on the other, I want a panic free life but at the same time if I ever have a panic attack I want to know the other person won’t abandon me. So I feel part of me is inflicting this upon myself, in a twisted way, using it to test the character of those surrounding me. I feel so bad… Does any of this make sense? Do I need more “help” than you explain here in the general, since it might be more fear-based anxiety than random panic from body sensations?

Thank you again for being fantastic, and I love where you live, it’s so pretty and enchanting 🙂

  5. Thank you so much for these episodes .. helps me to understand the physical sensations. I still have a hard time understanding the secondary mental sensations like intrusive scary thoughts. Why in your opinion do these occur? They seem to keep the anxiety going .

  6. I have been having full blown panic attacks for years but only recently (within the last 10 years) knew what they were. While I have a therapist I can’t see him as often as I’d like. Your episodes #1 and #2 have already explained a lot about what I go through. While my therapist assured me I wouldn’t die from an episode and has gone over some biochemistry with me, I look forward to episode #3 to really dig deeper. I can say right now I haven’t had a full blown attack in about 3 years but I DID have what I’m calling a nervous breakdown starting last October and finally ending in April. I felt like I was in a perpetual cardiac stress test and my doctors couldn’t/wouldn’t help. Thank you for your videos!!!

  7. Thank you so much for making these videos for everyone. It really as helped me understand where my anxiety is coming from. It’s scary enough to have a panic attack and being able to watch your videos allows me to understand where my own anxiety comes from within my self. So, thanks again for sharing your videos and making the facts sheets for everyone. I know for myself this has helped me so much already and I can only imagine how many others your videos have helped as well.
From the fullness of my heart , thank you <3

  8. Wow this really helped me to understand more and it makes so much sense. Can’t wait to watch episode 3. Thank you so much!

  9. This made total sense to me, thanks so much. My anxiety response to heavy breathing I think was started by a heart attack 10 years ago so I wonder if that can also be overcome. Can’t wait for number 3.

  10. Thank you very much michael..it all makes sense to me now and you are right, the deep breaths are just temporary relief as i have experienced..looking forward to watching#3

  11. Amazing, this information is truly anazing, thankyou for your help and wisdom. Most of the information you are sharing seems too good to be true but it is clearly true. When you are talking about panic it’s like you are describing nearly all of what I have gone through.
I really can’t thank you enough for sharing this information, I’m feeling much better already and have already started to use the information you have shared. I’m excited about listening to ep 3.

    Thankyou

    John

  12. Micheal I was skeptical of this after watching episode 1 because all of us who are hear haven’t found the answers to anxiety and panic attacks until now. I thought hear we go again hoping that this it, I am relieved and impressed after this last episode. Hoping this works well for everyone, THANKS Micheal.

  13. Honestly felt like no one would understand what I’m going through I’m a young fit and strong minded person never expected to go through what I am , I’ve tried all the breathing excersized and like you said they didn’t work , already just after watching episode 2 it has made a dramatic difference and I feel positive and reassured definetly going to recommend you , thank you so much

  14. I have panic attacks over 30 years with you help I can see a light ahead now i no it’s not my though. I have to Look at it in a different way to understand why my brain see it as a damage. Geoff

  15. Hi Michael. Your second episode has shown me that my panic and anxiety is due to worry over being unwell. Thank you for that.

    Love Mitch (I am a female !)

  16. It’s a relief to hear that deep breathing exercises can worsen anxiety because that’s my experience. I have had a lot of changes in the last few months and feel a lot of stress. I really struggle with feeling I can’t get enough air at various times throughout my day. I’ve only had one panic attack but the breathing anxiety is worse for me. I really hope your methods can help and look forward to trying it.
