STEP 2: HELP FRIENDS & FAMILY

As you’ve discovered in this series, panic attacks (and what's typically labeled as ‘panic disorder’) are very common.

Unfortunately, good help for panic is very hard to find.

Since I can't reach everyone on my own, and since we both share the same belief that we don’t want anyone to suffer in silence… if you benefit from what I’m doing here in this series, please tell others about it.

Thank you so much for helping me make a difference!

STEP 3: REINFORCE YOUR INSIGHTS

If you met someone else who experienced panic attacks and you only had 30 seconds to share ONE ESSENTIAL insight from this episode with them... what would you tell them?

Share your answer below to reinforce your long-term memory for this key insight AND to share your perspective with others (who will also share their perspectives with you).

Also, if you have any other comments for me, I'd love to hear them too.

Love,

Michael

P.S. Your email address will NOT be visible to others when you share your insight in the comments section below. Also, if you're more comfortable using just your first name, that's totally fine as well.

  1. At this time I have taken on more demands in my life (in school for I/T and work in a hospital). I feel my heart beat so fast it feels like I am running a marathon. Also fear over whelm me when taking exams. What can I do to manage my demands without or reduce these fears.

    1. Stay tuned for the next Episode Hilda. I’ll give you a simple, science-based strategy that is very useful for this!

  2. Hey Michael! I really appreciate this video. Like the first video this was very informative and reassuring regarding a lot of the symptoms we have during an anxiety/ panic attack. My one concern was that I have been told that if I can control my breathing that this will help resolve a panic attack, so I hope that video three has some good information on other strategies.

    1. Hi Roman, stay tuned for episode 3. It will give you a scientifically-validated strategy that’s far more effective than breathing techniques.

  3. Very helpful watching this even though i knew most of it before , hearing it from others via video is really helpful and the more you repeat these goof thoughts that easier it gets. Very good series mate it’s been a pleasure to watch

  4. Hi Michael, thank you for sending the link to the second episode, Panic Explained. Based from your explanation, my panic attacks are learned patterns created by bodily sensations associated with anxiety. It’s almost like expecting to have panic attacks the moment I feel my heart beat faster and when I start hyperventilating. Everything you said is true! Thank goodness for your excellent research on this topic.

Going back to your ability to walk again, I can’t help but be inspired. It takes a lot of courage and determination to achieve this feat.

I am excited to learn more about your mother’s journey to heal herself from MS. I know that one day, we can conquer this disease. Much love to her.

Until then, I hope to hear from you soon. I’m wondering what lies ahead in episode 3. I like the way you present the topics in the first two episodes. May God bless you more for helping people like me who suffer from the false alarm of panic.

    Thank you so much.

    Amy

    1. Thanks so much Amy. My mother, unfortunately, is deeply impacted by MS. She has a horrible form of MS (much worse than mine), but I am continually inspired by her attitude and courage. Thanks for your kind words!

  5. Thankful for this information. It confirms all that I’m feeling while i care for my elderly Mom. I want to be strong for her, but feel so weak and panicked all the time. I’ve struggled with panic for many years, but really could use some help to manage while I take care of my Mom in her last years. Thank you!!

    1. You’re welcome Lili. Episode 3 will give you a scientifically-validated technique that can make a huge, immediate difference.

  6. I have just listened to your second episode and I can not tell you how much this has reassured me – thank you SO much.
I have had anxiety and panic for three years, the early morning being the absolute worst but I now realise that these awful feelings on waking are triggered by me expecting them and fearing them. I now need to learn how to change these automatic reactions to them.
    Kindest regards
    Rosina

  7. You have no idea how reassuring it is to listen to someone who truly wants to help people with anxiety on a daily basis but doesn’t have the money to get the resources to help. Waking up in the morning is the hardest part for me. Judging the day ahead subconsciously even when I’m trying not to dissect the day my brain is. Thank you I don’t know how I can express how nice it is to see an email from you.

  8. Thank you this all makes sense I am struggling and have been to the ER twice in last 3 weeks. Was told to go back on anti depressants. I have not touched them I will continue to listen to you and I can feel a difference already..

    1. So glad to hear that Janine! (As a side note for anyone reading this — never stop taking medication without first consulting your doctor. )

  9. Michael,
Having this in depth knowledge and understanding of the vicious cycle that ensues has made me feel more optimistic that there’s hope for me to get the necessary tools or techniques to resolve my issue which is specific to situational driving and has only been with me for about 2 months. Originally had trips planned for this very holiday season that I don’t dare attempt until I get help which I hope to receive expeditiously!
    Regards
    Robert

  10. I love Michael so far. His insight on anxiety and his explanation has made me calm down already. It all makes sense. Dr.s really never explain this and make you feel like you are mentally ill. I know I am going to beat this with Michaels help. I will continue to get educated by him. I need to be off these meds. I can’t stand it. Michael thank you. 💖💖💖💖

    1. Denise, I feel exactly the same way. Michael is very calming. Wish I could take him with me to those meetings I’m terrified of (LOL). Doctor’s don’t tell you this stuff. They just keep prescribing meds that numb us. I too feel like I can beat this with Michael’s help. Halleluiah!!

  11. I’v been having anxiety for just over a year now after my business failed , I’v been researching for months for a reason and a cure without taking medication . It never occurred to me it was the anxiety causing my physical symptoms to then start the cycle , I thought it was the sensations that were the start of the panic . You have definitly helped me understand why things happen when they do . Thank you very much for taking the time to help myself and others it means a lot because so many just say don’t worry about it . Happy new year

  12. I have watched episodes 1 and 2 and am awaiting episode 3. I am a health care professional who has had new and recent episodes. I relate so much to all you are sharing and my eyes have been opened also. Thank you so much this is very helpful.

    1. I’m so glad you’re here Amy. We need more health care professionals learning about how to help people with panic false alarms. I’m so glad this is opening your eyes!
