STEP 2: HELP FRIENDS & FAMILY

As you’ve discovered in this series, panic attacks (and what's typically labeled as ‘panic disorder’) are very common.

Unfortunately, good help for panic is very hard to find.

Since I can't reach everyone on my own, and since we both share the same belief that we don’t want anyone to suffer in silence… if you benefit from what I’m doing here in this series, please tell others about it.

Thank you so much for helping me make a difference!

STEP 3: REINFORCE YOUR INSIGHTS

If you met someone else who experienced panic attacks and you only had 30 seconds to share ONE ESSENTIAL insight from this episode with them... what would you tell them?

Share your answer below to reinforce your long-term memory for this key insight AND to share your perspective with others (who will also share their perspectives with you).

Also, if you have any other comments for me, I'd love to hear them too.

Love,

Michael

P.S. Your email address will NOT be visible to others when you share your insight in the comments section below. Also, if you're more comfortable using just your first name, that's totally fine as well.

  1. Another great episode. It makes a lot if sense that your bodily sensations and thoughts can mistakenly lead you to panic and your body over reacts in a viscous cycle. Thanks

    1. Hi Rowena, I’m so glad this is making sense. That’s a very important first step that we can build on in Episode 3 🙂

  2. Wow, Michael! Episode 2 was so eye opening! I see how understanding panic and what causes it, can make them stop!!! You are brilliant! Thank you so much for your compassion to want to help me!!! May the Lord bless you!

    1. Hi Cynthia, so glad this episode was so eye opening for you! Thanks for your kind words and for commenting!

  3. A very helpful video to understand that there are reasons for what I am feeling during a panic attack. To think that there may be a solution in the near future – after battling panic for 22 years – is music to my ears. Thank you ! Bring on Video 3 🙂

  4. Hi Michael,

Thank you so much for creating this valuable video series, and thank you for making them free! They are certainly helping me cope. It helps to know I’m not alone, and that there are scientific reasons behind what I’m going through.

I was lucky enough to feel “normal” until my first panic attack (just 2 weeks ago), and since then, I have been jumping out of my skin with strange, scary symptoms from “tingles” to tight muscles to heart palpitations. The first time I was rushed to the ER, I even had low blood potassium (which I’m assuming/hoping hyperventilation can cause, just as you mention in this video).

It’s truly amazing and frightening what stress can do to our bodies! I had no idea panic and anxiety could be this bad, and even now, it’s hard to believe! If nothing else, this has been a humbling learning process for me. I will share your video series with everyone I love, even those who haven’t had anxiety or panic episodes. The information you provide is incredibly valuable and relevant to all.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing this much-needed help, support, and understanding to those suffering from this frightening condition. May you and yours be blessed, always.

Looking forward to watching episode 3, and hopefully, joining the ranks of the Panic Free again soon!

    1. Hi Katrina, thanks for your thoughtful comment. Sorry to hear about what you’ve been through recently. I’m so glad you’re here watching this series!

    2. I couldn’t agree more with your comment katrina
I have the same feelings and I’ve only just had my firsts panic attack about 3 weeks ago and doctors at
Hospitals didn’t even know what to say or do my blood pressure was low and my heart rate fast
I’m so glad there is kind people like Micheal to help us and I think we should share this with all our friends and family even if they haven’t suffered good luck with your calming future

  5. I like the way you explained the external anxiety, cause I think flying back and forth from my home country to my new country has brought on a lot of my anixety, due to the fact that I am so fearful of flying. But I’m optimistic that I may have an anixety and panic free life. I need this it’s really crippling my life at the moment. Thank you for all you doing for people that suffer

    1. You’re welcome Byron. Glad this is making sense to you, and glad you’re here so we can help you!

  7. Thank you for bringing some clarity to the cycle of anxiety. I can’t wait to hear some strategies to clear this from my life in episodes 3 and 4! Thank you for putting this out there and for helping so many people you are an angel!

  8. Have watched episodes 1&2 . I have had episodes of panic at various life cycles. Im in a anxiety state now due to the stressors of an elderly parent living with me. Feeling smothered by the situation and three weeks ago the flood gate burst. I am learning from your videos that my anxiety in particular HV, is the trigger for my symptoms. Not so much fast beating heart but cant get my breath , chest tightness , digestive problems, shakes and the fear of a heart attack. I know i am a healthy individual but the symptoms cause common sense to escape me. I try to do daily mindful meditation but deep breathing like you mention gets me everytime. I am on medications currently but wish to be med free like everyone else. Thank you for your insightful, concise and informative videos.

  9. This is truly reassuring and very interesting…the plain understanding of what’s going on explained in a calm and easy to understand manner has already helped me to combat and try to re adjust my thought patten to what is actually happening…cannot wait for episode 3 !!!
And the extra pdf fact sheets are a superb idea please download and keep
    Thanks Michael

  10. This is really first time that someone talks and makes sense of what panic is I did know a lot of this information already. But I still don’t know how to implement them in getting my life back. I do fill a little more hopeful that its actually possible, after watching second episode.

    1. So glad to hear that Ana. Episode 3 will give you a technique you can use immediately .

  11. This episode has really helped me I understand now that it’s the anxiety that I have
That has brought on the panic mode
It’s your body’s way of saying chill really I suppose and yes I’ve been told to breathe slow and deep to help it
I’m looking forward to finding out what I can do to settle the symptoms
Thank you I will be sharing this with two other friends

  12. I’ve suffered for 19 years with anxiety and had no real help from UK Health services. I’ve tried a couple of online help programmes, and although they all make sense and I believe they’ve helped me to not get any worse I’m not even remotely close to living a normal life.
Your voice is very soothing and reassuring and after watching two of your videos I feel re-motivated to start a new fresh journey to getting well. You made me cry in video 1 telling us how brave we all are.

    Caren

    1. I’m so sorry you didn’t get good help from the UK health services. That’s far too common. I’m glad you’re here though, Caren, and thanks for commenting!

  13. I’ve been living with anxiety for as long as I can remember and have done so much reading to try and understand it and your videos are the first thing I’ve seen that actually make sense. Looking foward to episode 3. Thanks

  14. I was definitely skeptical even after the first episode. But this second episode made more sense. Everything you talked about is so true. Especially the part about deep breathing exercises. I always wondered why those never helped me at all and actually made my panic worse despite that therapists told me it was what I should try to do. This knowledge has helped me more than years of therapy. Thank you.

    1. Hi Kate, I’m so glad this episode has helped you so much. It’s sad this wasn’t shared with you in your first therapy session, but your story is a very common one. Anyway, I’m glad you’re here!
